2nd Feather [commentlog]
[There's an owl in the Keep. A rather ruffled looking Barn owl, to be specific.
Te Ata had been getting restless on the ground, so she had shifted to her owl form. She had been slightly worried at how long it had taken and the energy it had expended that she had tried to shift back almost immediately.
Rather shocked at being stuck as an owl, Te Ata had gathered up her scattered clothes and hid them away before taking to the sky to scout out the Keep.
Feel free to bug the owl.]

He was nearly to the thermal pools, a robe wrapped around his trim form and a towel draped over his arm, when the sound of wing beats catches his attention. He pauses and glances up, blue-green eyes scanning the skies until he sights upon the owl.
His brows rise slightly, having seen several bird of various species since his arrival here, but never an owl. He smiles ever so slightly before continuing toward the pools, finding a certain degree of comfort in the birds' presence.]

If there are public baths, Te Ata wants to know about them before checking them out as a human.]

Because he does. They are a curious and intelligent bird by default, but generally they keep a wider berth than this one seems inclined to.
He pauses again as she moves in closer, glancing over his shoulder at her to watch her approach.]
Hello, pretty .. Looking around, are you?
[He doesn't seem to think twice about talking to an owl, smiling at the pretty bird before continuing down the last of the path that guides to the pools. He sighs contently as his gaze falls on the steaming pools, setting his towel (and journal) safely aside before sitting at the edge of one pool and dangling his legs into the water.
He then proceeds to begin braiding his hair back from his face, slim fingers separating and weaving the sections of hair by feel rather than sight.]

Do you understand me, lovely one?

Are you a shifter?
[His gaze is intense, but warm and welcome. If she were she might not even wish to reply, bu he was still curious.]

Sorry Alex, she can't answer that. Her laws forbid it.]

As you'd have it then, pretty one.
[He's not offended, but his curiosity toward the bird is certainly far from abated. He pulls his towel free and sets it away from the water before lifting off the edge of the thermal pool and sinking into the steaming water with a sigh of relief.
His blue-green gaze shifts to the owl once again, eyes half-lidded and content.]
I'd not mind the company at any rate, pretty, so please stay as long as you'd care to.
[He himself was debating on shifting to allow for a bit of a limb stretching, but doesn't do so yet.]

You bother me not at all, pretty one. I'm rather happy for the company, truth told.
[He sinks beneath the water's surface before coming back up again, palming his hands over his face and looking toward his feathery companion.]
Have you been at the Keep long?
